Microsoft Project for Software Development

By | May 20, 2004

Why is it that MS Project is not built for for the effort of developing software?

– No Requirements analysis (like Rational Clearcase)
– No Bug tracking (like Rational Clearquest)
– No Release/Build Management features
– No SourceSafe integration

I would have thought, with all the software Microsoft works on, that MS Project would have features galore to support that process.

Does Microsoft actually use Project to manage the software development of its own products?

I’ve been a strong advocate for all Microsoft products since I wrote my first program 20 years ago.

10 PRINT “Glen Lipka”;
20 GOTO 10
30 END

It was bug free.
