I shaved the beard.  I like the way it looked, but I just couldn’t get used to the way it felt.  I was constantly touching it and playing with the whiskers with my tongue.  It was a fairly bad Cher impersonation.

This is me WITHOUT the beard.  This is me WITH the beard.  Which is better?

I look in the mirror now and it looks strange.  But I’m not touching it or licking it, which is good.

You know what you could do? You could act like a man! Is this what you have become, you can’t even overcome a little beard licking. Don’t you think that Jesus has the same problem, but did he shave his beard off? No, because he was a man, and now you are just some beardless monkey-thing. Think about it, who would you rather be like, some with a beard (like Lincoln, Confucius, and Che Guevara, and Prince Vultan), or the unbearded (Mao Tse-tung, ToC, Nixon, and Eddie Arkadian). Of course the simple mustache is out of the questions (Hilter and Stalin, unless you can pull off a Salvador Dali ‘stache which supersedes previous mustache evilnesss).

But you have to keep your beard in check, it does not rule you, you are in charge. You must love it, caress, pet it, but you must also shave it, trim it, and mold it. Be one with your beard.

“He that hath a beard is more than a youth, and he that hath no beard is less than a man.” – William Shakespeare
