• CSS Techie Stuff

I never realized this, but you can put more than one class into an html element. Example: <style>      .red {color:red;}      .padded { padding: 10px;}      .backed {background:yellow;}      .verdana {font: 14px verdana;} </style> <span class=”red backed padded verdana”>New CSS Trick!</span> CSS is so cool.…

  • Higher, Faster, Stronger

The Olympic motto is Higher, Faster, Stronger. This to me seems pretty straight-forward. Who can run the fastest, swim the fastest, jump the highest, lift the most, etc etc. So why are there all kinds of athletics that are based on aesthetic judgment. Like synchronized swimming, gymnastics, figure skating, platform…

  • Olympics

I’m watching the Olympics. Two quick thoughts: 1) What’s up with Gayle Devers nails? They are like 4 inches long each. How can she run with them? Don’t they cause wind resistence? Why do swimmers put on their caps to reduce resistance, but runners don’t care? 2) Discus. Man, what…

  • God Damn It

Katie was asking me for a cute story about Ethan for his preschool. I dug this one up from a car drive a few years ago. Glen: God Damn it! Ethan: What did you say, daddy?! Glen: Darn it, darn it! I said Darn it! Ethan: Is God Damn it…

  • T-Shirts for Kerry

I had this idea for a cool t-shirt for Kerry supporters. I need to get a photo of George W. Bush naked and then superimpose a shaved vagina on his private areas. The slogan would read: Read My Lips, No More Bush! I hope this doesn’t get me into trouble…

  • Rubberband Man

So I was looking at the computer screen, minding my own business and playing with a very small rubberband next to my mouth. Suddenly, HICK! I hiccuped and sucked the rubberband into the back of my throat. I don’t want to panic. My co-workers will think I am truly a…

  • Swimming in Hercules

Went swimming with Ethan yesterday. He is learning to tread water and hold his breath under water. He is so excited to be swimming. I keep telling him to stop smiling so he can hold the water out of his mouth. It’s hard for him though. He is just too…

  • Memories of my youth.

I remeber when I was driving to go on vacation. I am in the A-Team van, but it talks to me like Kitt. Sometimes we are chased by Roscoe P. Coltrane and have to jump the van over a lake. Cooter always fixes her up though. When we get to…

  • Charlie Wilson’s War

Charlie Wilson’s War is a great book. Very well written. I also think it sheds significant light on the U.S. Foreign Policy in Afghanistan, but mostly its just a great story! On another topic: I think that every 30 years, humans are required to redefine their view of their own…

  • Bush-speak

I love this quote from Bush, “Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we,” Bush said. “They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.” Gotta love him. source: MSNBC

  • Snapshot of Politics

STANDARD RESPONSE: “Is this crazy land?” Gay Marriage. Some people want a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between one man and one women. I heard a woman on the radio saying, “They can have another word, this word is ours!” (standard response) War on Terror. Do you remember previous wars?…

  • MP3 player for Windows

iTunes uses 18 megs of memory to run. Winamp uses 7 megs. iTunes doesn’t have the features either. Windows Media Player uses about 7 as well. I do not love the way Windows Media Player works and I definitely do not like iTunes. Ill give Winamp a fresh look.

  • Rebel without a plot

Just finished watching Rebel without a Cause from Netflix. This movie was terrible. I thought this was a classic? Wha happened?

  • Which stall?

When you are at work, do you go to the bathroom and use the exact same stall every time? Do you get annoyed if someone is in YOUR stall? What made you choose that particular stall? On another note: President Bush said that Kerry would erase gains made in the…
