So Cingular has this exchange deal where you can send them in your ATT phone (only specific models) and get $150 cash back. So I switched Katie and I to Motorola V220 and V400 phones. Apparently as of Nov. 15, the ATT and Cingular networks have merged and are now just one network. In the house, we seem to be getting good service. The annoying thing are the rebates. Katie and I have been terrible about sending in rebate forms. Probably a million dollars (well maybe not quite that much) is owed to us from rebates we never sent in. We stink. I’m trying to fill out this one from Cingular. They ask for all these details that I don’t know. The print is microscopic, only Spencer could like it and its printed grey on white so it’s near impossible to read. They are trying to break me. But like Rocky against Ivan Drago remembering his fight against Mr. T. I say, “My prediction? Paaaaiiin.” 2004
Jared is in both pictures. He is so adorable, its sickening. 2004
Katie and I need to switch from ATT to Cingular. They allow you to break the contract and switch. The plan is slightly better than what we have, but we would get roll-over minutes. We just have to pick phones. My phone doesnt even work right anymore. I cant press the numbers 1, 2 or 4. I need 2. I cant live without 2. 2 is my shortcut for Katie! So because Katie is freaked out about the prices and stuff, I think we should BOTH get the Motorola V220 Camera Phone (free) although the Motorola V400 phone ($80) has some nice benefits. Any advice? 2004
ESPN, just released this list of sports moments. It seems that Michael Jordon is every fifth entry. Anyway, they missed a bunch of great moments. Like when Jimmy Connors unbelievably beat Aaron Krickstein. It was the most unbelievable match I have ever seen. I was almost crying at the end. And I don’t even like Jimmy Connors. Or the time Jimmy “SuperFly” Snuka jumped off the top of the steel cage onto The Magnificent Muraco. I used to have an animated gif of this jump, but I lost it. Anyone have it? Although this moment is only slightly better than when Roddy Piper hit Snuka in the head with a coconut. Crazy. Or the 1998 Jets season they finished 12-4. With all those miracle comebacks in 2000! Or how about when Ali beat George Foreman in the Ruble in the Jungle. Or how about th 1982 Cal vs. Stanford game when the receiver ran into the band and spiked the ball on the tuba player!? Anyway that’s just a few they seemed to miss. 2004
I purchased the NFL Sunday Ticket through DirecTV. Was this a good idea or a bad idea? I don’t know. But, I do know that I enjoyed watching the Jets on Sunday, BARELY beat the Browns. They are terrible, but they are way better than the local teams. Look in the ESPN Power Rankings. Oakland and San Francisco are two of the three worst teams in football. I still haven’t gotten Tivo working yet. I need to bring it to someone’s house and hook it up to a phone line. They say it will change my life. They. Remember They Live, with Rowdy Roddy Piper? His website is terrible, but he has one of the best lines in all moviedom:
Last thing. Slashdot (biased) is reporting that Microsoft IE is down below 90% market rate. I really do NOT want to support two browsers again. 2004
Daniel and Lindy visited us this weekend. We had a nice time. Ethan, Jared, Danny and I rode bikes around Baywood for a while. We saw The Incredibles. I think it’s the best Pixar movie to date. They have their headquarters in Emeryville. We saw the movie just a mile away from their headquarters. I finished The Document Object Model book. I am starting this one. It jumped out at me. Not literally, of course. 2004
Uncle Daniel and “soon to be” Aunt Lindy are visiting us from New York today. Ethan and Jared are excited. They also asked specifically about seeing Bapu. I told them, in 2 months we will see them. On the technical side, I have been working on a DOM “super” table. It automatically has mouseover and mouseclick events. Automatically checks input boxes. Automatically sorts with headers. No code on the page at all. It is daunting, but I think I can do it. I am about half way there. Ill post it on the website I have been planning as soon as its ready. Also, I have been taking casual carpool from Hercules. It’s quick and free. Although I can’t read in the car. So many interesting and bizarre people. 2004
My head cold moved from my head to my throat. *cough* DirecTV came over so that is fixed. I asked them to give me NY local stations. They are working on it. That way, I could watch the Jets without NFL Sunday Ticket. Hmm, I wonder if Comcast could do that. They told me they are launching a Tivo device that doesn’t need a phone line. Meanwhile, Comcast cable modem, changed my IP on me. Come on boys, finish the road already. It is so lame that we aren’t on the map. Also, I noticed that the third floor telephone jack is dead and my Ethernet jack in the garage is still busted. We need to bring the “bench” to Penny’s. And we need to still clean up the playroom. Uncle Daniel is coming soon to visit. WooHoo! Oh, last thing. We got a new fish last night. His/Her name is Halfspot. He is a fancy goldfish. He is half silver and half gold with a spot on the tail. So far Michael, our beta fish, has been a good host. I like the fish. Soothing. 2004
I did pretty good based on my goals: (See list below) I think the boys are infesting me with germs. They gave me a headcold. They are like virus incubators! 2004
I love ComputerWorld Magazine, even though I don’t get it anymore. I was mentioned in the magazine 9 times. Check it out. Oh, the glory days, when everyone I knew thought the internet was a fad or useless or both. |
